"Our
Community"
|
A
primary goal for Time is of the Es*Sense is to create
powerful partnerships within the community. The artisans
that create for us are the threads that unite us. The
passion for their work and that which they create is
shared with ourselves and others and helps us to build a
community based on mutual respect and support. The
relationship we share with our artisans has enriched our
business and our lives. When you purchase a Time is of the
Es*Sense item, designed and handcrafted by an artist from
our community you are not only supporting our vision, but
you are adding one more thread to the collective web that
links us all together.

Cheap Therapy
Lisa Richey explains that Cheap Therapy is what creating
handmade books and hand painted cards provides her. After
working as a banker for almost 20 years, she sees her new
Life as a way to earn less money; have a less definite
future; have even less power in corporate America; go to
fewer meetings; seldom, if ever wear pantyhose again; and
have her soul fed every day! Lisa’s work is currently in
over 50 galleries and shops across the country. She and
her wonder dog, Aslan, live at Lake Waccamaw, NC. FYI…10%
of Lisa’s profit from the sales of her books and cards
goes to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Sylvie Elise Lansdowne
Glass bead maker
Sylvie is known for her Mermaids, Fairies, Angels and
Floral beads. Her signature style is easily recognizable.
Her beads are sold at bead stores nationwide and collected
internationally. Her jewelry and gift line is sold to
galleries and gift stores across the country. She enjoys
classes as an extension of her art…the ability to share
her knowledge and help her students to develop their own
excitement for glass. Sylvie and her husband Rob, opened
Lansdowne Bed and Breakfast, an educational center for
bead makers. “It is our goal to bring you the best
instructors available. We have selected the best faculty
to bring to Atlanta, bead enthusiasts and beaders willing
to travel to Atlanta classes. We hope that our excitement
for beads will spread through this unique educational
opportunity.” Sylvie Elise Lansdowne
Corina Beads
Corina Tettinger is a glass bead maker who shares her
enthusiasm and amazing talent with the people that collect
her little works of art. Corina seems to put emotion and
feeling into her work, which explains why she views her
beads as a potential “hug” she can send out to her
customers and friends. She honestly loves sharing her
talent and the beauty it produces with others. Corina fell
in love “with the idea of making something small and
delicate that lasts forever and gives joy to people!”

Rick Martin
Composer
Rick, formerly of Northridge, California, is currently
pursuing a music degree via the School of Life and Living.
The music for Time is of the Es*Sense was created and
composed entirely by Rick in the wildest flurry of
muse-like activity ever witnessed by owners, Catherine and
Jeanne. They are eternally grateful for Rick’s musical
genius and hope that this leads him to more compositional
challenges and successes.
Todd Salat Shots
Photographer
Todd was born an Iowa farm boy…but made his way to the
mountains as often as possible. He holds degrees in
geology and became an exploration geologist. In 1997, Todd
moved to Alaska, the “Great Land”, to follow through
with the photo biz. He has a cabin in Hatcher Pass, a
camper on his truck, a home-base in Anchor-town, and a new
‘Galler-wheelia’ in tow. He now says it’s time to
explore and share.
“I truly hope you have enjoyed looking at …my photos.
After a lot of experimentation I feel, no, I know, that I
am using the best combination of cameras, lenses, film,
and tripods to bring this “product” to you. The Image
is as ‘pure’ as I can get it—I never use color
filters and I never digitally enhance or alter my
pictures. Also, I recently have started having most of my
printing done locally on Fuji Gloss Crystal Archive paper—and
I am ecstatic over the results! The glossy surface is of
gem-like quality and the resultant color saturation looks
awesome to me. I hope you feel the same!”
(We do, Todd!)
